Schoolchecker.uk provides general information about state-funded schools and local context in England. It supports research before school visits and applications. It is not legal advice, education advice, or admissions advice.

You must be responsible for decisions you make about schools. Always confirm admissions rules, SEN provision, and transport with the school and your local authority.

We work from official open data but cannot guarantee that every figure is complete, current, or free from government suppression rules. Schools change URNs after academy conversion; Ofsted may publish area judgements instead of a single grade; DfE may withhold small cohort statistics.

The site may be unavailable during maintenance or data rebuilds. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access. See methodology for how we show missing data and contact to report likely errors.

You agree not to:

• Scrape the site in a way that impairs service for other users
• Attempt to access non-public systems or inject malicious code
• Republish large portions of the site as if they were your own official statistics without attribution
• Misrepresent School Checker data as admissions guarantees or council policy

Reasonable personal research, sharing links, and citing statistics with source attribution is welcome.

We link to GOV.UK, Ofsted, school websites, Google Maps directions, and other third parties. We are not responsible for their content, availability, or privacy practices. Leaving Schoolchecker.uk is at your own risk.

Schoolchecker layout, copy, and presentation are protected by copyright. Underlying school statistics remain subject to open government licences where applicable. You may not copy substantial parts of the site's design or code without permission.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Schoolchecker.uk and its operators are not liable for any loss arising from reliance on information on the site, including missed application deadlines, unsuccessful applications, or travel costs based on distance lines on our maps.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under UK law.
